PunkwebBB

PunkwebBB is a Django application that provides a simple and modern forum board software for your Django website.

Years ago, I built a similar package called punkweb-boards.  PunkwebBB is it's successor.

My hope is that this is useful to some Django developer out there.

What makes PunkwebBB superior to punkweb-boards?

• I have 8 more years of professional web developer experience than when I started punkweb-boards.
• Has been stripped down to just the core/stable functionality and rewritten from scratch.
• Interface has been completely redesigned and cleaned up significantly.
• Utilizes HTMX to implement functionality like dialog windows and shoutbox polling without any JavaScript.
• Thread/post editor matches what is actually posted significantly better.
• All features are stable, there isn't anything half baked in the release.

This is only the initial release, I plan to continue building this into a more fully fledged forum board software, with all the features you'd expect such as user ranks, reporting, advanced searching/filtering, private messaging, theme customization, and more.
